About Colorado Quaintrelle

Yes, that is really what I look like. Shocking, isn’t it? Not very stylish. Or charming. But it does emphasize the life I lead. This photo was taken on the trail to Hanging Lake by my sister-in-law. Spontaneously, we decided to drop in for a hike and the view on our way back to Denver after having spent the day at Iron Mountain Hot Springs in Glenwood Springs.

Why Colorado Quaintrelle if I am not as charming or glamorous as the word quaintrelle suggests? I’m a born and raised Coloradan. Despite being a native, my family certainly is not. As a child, I spent a large amount of time with my staunchly proper, British, Great Depression era grandmother. If something was broken, you fixed it. If it could be reused, it was reused. You made things before you bought them. Consequently, I picked up a lot of adulting skills from grandma.

I cook. I craft. I sew. I knit. I adventure.

I am a Quaintrelle.
